Spun from very fine colored copper wire, with genuine Czech crystal accents, this Amethyst and Copper Ojo de Dios Pendant would look fabulous with the matching Ojo de Dios Earrings. Pendant measures approx. 1.5 inches long and wide, and comes with an 18″ copper chain.  The Czech crystal accents in the center, sides, and bottom catch the light in a very subtle sparkle.

The Ojo de Dios or Eye of God is thought to have originated among the Huichol Indians of Jalisco, Mexico. As a symbol of the power of seeing and understanding unknown things, the four points represent earth, fire, air, and water. In making an Ojo, we are expressing a prayer that the eye of God will watch over us (or the person we are making it for) and grant us (them) health, fortune, and a long life. The Ojo becomes a physical representation of the prayer. Historically,when a child was born, the central eye was woven by the father, then one eye was added for every year of the child’s life until the age of five.

The second part of this Beijing series is this pair of earrings, made with the same warm 14 carat gold filled wire as the pendant, and created with the same flare at the bottom of each BC Nephrite jade earring to create a beautiful set if  purchased with the pendant. The first in the series is a sumptous gold and rich jade pendant, created with a flare at the bottom, and balancing spirals of gold at the top right and left bottom.  Set on a handmade circular bail, the pendant measures 2″ long and 1″ in width, including the bale, and comes with an 18″ gold plated chain.
