A Wyvern's Original
Wyvern’s Whims is run by an Ottawa jewelry designer, and two cats that lend their input (and tails) to the endeavor. Although I’ve always been enthralled by crafts and shiny objects it never occurred to me I could actually make jewelry for myself until I saw an online course on wire sculpture. Thinking it looked like fun, I tried a couple of projects, and ended up hooked for life.
One thing I’ve always collected (and found very hard to find in jewellry) is dragons. A wyvern being a type of dragon (or of the dragon genre if you want to pick holes) I chose it for my business name. And since I started on a whim, and most people choose jewelry on a whim or feeling, that is the second part of this name.I specialize in custom pieces, with people bringing me stones, coins, antique pieces that are broken, etc that I set into pendants, brooches, and other forms of jewelry. When I’m not doing that, I design my own ‘bits’ or teach classes on jewelry design. It’s a lot of fun, very educational, and you meet a lot of incredible people. I’ll look forward to meeting you too, one day, or chatting with you online about jewelry and rocks. Have a question, comment, or special request? Feel free to contact me at wyvernswhims@gmail.com, or stop by any of the shows I’ll be displaying at!

That ring is too die for! Is it made with Pyrite and Herks or just Pyrite nuggets wrapped? It’s just so beautiful and glitzy, and serious BLING! You still got it girl, never let it go.
Love and Metta;
Susan
Thanks so much, Susan! The ring is just one chunk of fools gold (pyrite). Flat on the bottom and all those facets on the top. I couldn’t resist making it into a ring!
